Baxter Springs Wedding

Baxter Springs is a city situated along the Spring River in the extreme southeastern part of Cherokee County, located in southeast Kansas, in the central United States. The population was estimated to be 4,246 in the year 2005.[1] It is the most populous city of Cherokee County.

Baxter Springs is the south-west end of the section of Route 66 that passes through Kansas.

Baxter Springs is located at 37123N, 94445W (37.023062, -94.734762).[2] The city is situated along the western bank of the Spring River at the edge of the Ozarks. It is at the junction of U.S. Route 69 Alternate and U.S. Route 166, and U.S. Route 400 bypasses the city to the northeast. The center of town is less than two miles from the Kansas-Oklahoma state border though the incorporated area of the city extends to the border. It is also about 13 miles west-southwest of Joplin, Missouri.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km), of which 3.1 sq. mi. (8.1 km) is land and 0.1 sq. mi. (0.2 km), or 2.48%, is water.[2]
